Located in both the Midwestern and Central part of
the United States, the state of Kansas (that was named
for the Kansas River that runs through it) has it's
name translated to mean "people of the south winds".
Kansas is located in what has been referred to as the
heartland of America and the state entered the union
in the year of 1861. Kansas is the most productive state
in the US in terms of agriculture.
At one time you would have to get into your car and go to the courthouse in order to look up land records. I can remember when I worked for a survey company that I would have to take a lot of time to go down to the courthouse and look up plats. Now you can find a lot of these things on the Internet.
